Embracing uncertainty

When nothing is sure, everything is possible. — Margaret Drabble

Some days back, I had a conversation with myself – about life in general. How you are there planning for tomorrow and the days after, with not a clue about what you will come across five hours or even five seconds later. So, if everything is so uncertain, why do we plan for  tomorrow that we have not a hint about? Why do we prepare for our future while knowing that life is uncertain? Why do we use all of our todays for our uncertain tomorrows?

To have a stable or a certain future, you are expected to graduate, get a job, work hard, get married, and start a family. If we do it, we would have a steady life and would have nothing to be concerned about. But is it true? Are we so certain that doing all these things can give us a certain future? For instance, after my high school, I thought I was on a right track studying what I wanted to but after my Bachelors, I realized it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue. I went hopping from one faculty to another. Thus I realized that life is anything but certain. The world is changing in such a swift pace that sometimes it’s so difficult to process. Although, we ask a lot of what’s and why’s throughout our life, we keep on working hard for our uncertain future. Who, for instance, would have thought that one day we would be out partying with friends or hanging out with our colleagues and the next day the entire nation would have been shut down?

Life can and will change in the blink of an eye, but usually we delude ourselves into believing otherwise. Everything I thought that would be stable in my life has not been stable. But life goes on and so do we. When things seem to be certain, we let our guards down – we stop growing. When we know that life is uncertain, we either give up or we work hard and fight back. The thing is: Nothing is really certain but the only thing that is certain and inevitable is “change”.

So, all we can do is learn to get comfortable with the uncertainties in our life. This is the only thing that will help us move forward; looking back or remaining still can not.

But Uncertainty keeps the world going. Just imagine the world that’s so certain and people already stopped re-acting, as they already know the consequences. Life would be Dumb and colorless, isn’t it? Efforts would die, Interests would fade away and Arts would cease to exist.
Enjoyed reading the Article! Nice one, thank you.!
