Having a romantic relationship at workplace is always a tricky affair, and that includes vendors, suppliers and other stakeholders. It is tricky because emotionally you may be involved, and rationally, many a times, you have to set limits. Contemplate upon these things before you take it any further.

Do:

Be aware of the risks of getting involved with someone at work.

Check your company’s policies. Inform your manager, if you are serious.

Discuss an exit plan, if issues arise within the relationship or at the workplace.

Don’t:

Ever date someone in the same chain of command or even department, although the company does not prohibit it.

Do it if the reasons for the relationship are not love or commitment.

Try to keep it a secret.
