You plan to complete your assignment by today, or fix your nails, but end up checking SMS, watching television and sleeping. Has this ever happened to you?
Regardless of time management skills, everyone plans a couple of things or two per day. And if you’re reading this, I’m pretty sure you do have a pending to-do list (at least in your head).
Next time, let’s check the tasks done, shall we?
1. Prioritize your to-do list
Human brain focuses and prioritizes more when it comes to “number one”. Since it sounds important, prejudice towards number 1 ensures you will do it first. Next time spare a moment to prioritize your list and see the difference
2. Remind yourself of the job till you start doing it
Human brain is also a muscle, and muscles have memories. Once you see yourself doing it, your muscle memory makes it easy to do it again. Affirmations “I am doing this” and visualizations for the work in your number 1 helps.
3. The Pomodoro technique is not just for studies.
Doing a job continuously until you finish not only makes it monotonous but also tiring. So divide your work into chunks and take a break just before you get tired of it.
4. Relax in a boring way.
Here is your biggest clue, Do not take breaks that consumes you. Take breaks that are in your control. Boring breaks allow you to be back to work much faster.
5. Think about why you are doing it
When you feel like its taking forever, remind yourself that absolutely everything in this world demands its own time –you are not simply spending, you are investing time in getting a beautiful dream goal.
Now, you are ready to make a directed effort to get those tasks on your list checked “Done.”
