Of Passion, Practice and Patience

With the Internet, it’s now easier for us to present our talent to the world. The artists who choose to expose themselves don’t only get hundreds of praises but also ample of questions. And one of the most frequent questions is: “How are you so good at it?”

Well, all of us have fields that inspire us, that keep our soul burning but only a few of us ace it. The answer to the question ‘why?’ is that only few have the patience of going ahead with our passion even in the most hopeless days of their career. Now that we have Internet, it’s so much easier for us to learn new things but at the same time, it is much harder to concentrate and reach our goals – there are too many distractions. So, where do we get the motivation we need?

In order to practice, we need motivation. For motivation, we need to be assured of good results. And for good results, we need good practice. However, this too has been made easier. We have hundreds and thousands of videos, talks and stories on the internet that claim to motivate us. But could we really call it motivation when, instead of working instantly, they urge us to browse other similar content on the internet, on and on?

All these refined people and crafts we see on the Internet are the results of years of work that most people aren’t patient enough to master. Almost all of us have something we call ‘passion’ but it requires consistency that only a few of us possess. There’ll be those lousy days when nothing but quitting will seem like the answer. If we’re hoping for some miracle that will motivate and make us work, chances are, we won’t succeed.

I can’t promise you success or fame. I don’t know what they are. I don’t know what perfection is, either. But what I know, for sure, is that self-discipline cannot cheat you, ever. It’s not easy, not even for this blogger, lecturing about practice and patience, amidst all these side-distractions. I can promise this: It will be worth it, if you set to learn to decline hangouts for keeping your streaks alive and to master the art you’ve always dreamed of. It’s just about a few years of practice and patience, I promise.

Comments should be at least three sentences long to be approved. Let’s comment why it is nice or not nice. Not just “Nice” or “Not nice.”

How you’ve put together words to portray your understanding of what life has ahead is meaningfully beautiful. What you’ve written is what life, to much extent, contains. The fact that external motivation alone won’t do you sustaining good is what catches my thoughts. Great work!

This is something I needed to hear. Yeah, with so much distractions, sometimes we find difficult to concentrate and keep consistent with something that we claim to be amazing at but its the self-discipline that will get you going. It is all worth it. Thank you. This is amazing blog.
