It was a normal day that began well. My good old rock-fanatic ears wanted the guitar riffs of Slash from Guns N Roses. Everything was great, considering the waves of unknown about to hit me. I put on my pretty white floral-printed one-piece with a black turtle neck, which creating a pretty contrast with the outfit. I desperately needed that vibe of self-confidence. To feel great in my skin, to look bold, and to present myself brightly.
I was ready to sway in my little red ride resembling the look classy. Touche’. I rode calmly using all my survival instincts. I reached my destination. I entered this Consultancy with a bright smile on my face along with a little tint of nervousness. Then I met my mentor. We started talking about content writing. Could a day be any better?
The day went better than planned. Good conversation we had was worth remembering. Waves of upliftment were flooding me and I could see my fears vanishing. We talked for hours, and I felt empowered. I was returning home with a happy realization that my dream of being a sassy writer with entrepreneurial assets was heading a great path. I considered myself blessed to be part of something that would take great turns in the future. I was excited for the great opportunities.
Twilight was approaching. I bid farewell and headed home. My hungry stomach complained and I stopped for a snack. My sweet home was only five minutes away.
And it happened. Bang!
My helmet was three meters away from me. I blacked out a nanosecond before I hit the bike with a couple, who now lay on the road, wriggling like me. Just five minutes away from my home, this accident stole all my happiness in a fraction of a second. The lady on the passenger seat started whimpering in pain. I stood up on my wounded leg asking for apologies. My little red scooter was a piece of nothing. It was there, all crashed and messed up. The husband of that lady carried her to the side of the road. She was crying, and I was feeling the pain. Everything happened in a split minute. I couldn’t even figure out what I should do.
Two officers came. I took my little ride with them. The lady was taken to the hospital, followed by me. The whole two hours there was a complete hell. Her husband was probably cursing me from the bottom of his heart. I lied to my family. Basically, I was all alone in that rough situation. My mind was all messed up. I was blaming myself highly rather than failed brakes.
The thoughts that crossed my mind before I blacked out was how I let people down and how I am unworthy of all the happiness that sets foot on my trails. And now I am fearful of everything that crosses the road. I shiver when I walk, I shiver when I am in passenger seat of someone’s bike, I tremble whenever I am on a graveled path
