Description
Known as ” The Roof of the World”, the Tibetan Plateau had been shrouded by a curtain of mystery until early this century; even today much of its uniqueness remains veiled.
Beginning in 1976 the young woman writer Ma Lihua made seven journeys to Northern Tibet. Withstanding tremendous hardships and perils, she records in vivid detail her experiences in the fast changing Tibet, and thus offers readers telling glimpses into the Tibetan peoples’s lifestyle, religion, folklore, customers, and legends.
