Description
Somebody comes and lavishes praise on you. You made this possible. If it “weren’t for you, this task wouldn’t have been completed.” What effect does it have on you’? There would be ma who would find it difficult to sleep that night. They would keep drooling over their moment of glory. ‘How well I was appreciated… ho everyone lauded my work…’ The self-talk would go on endlessly. On the other hand, i someone humiliates you or creates a furore about your shortcomings, you feel awful thinking. ‘How dare lie! What does he think of himself?… People are so bad…’
In both these situations, we actually commit the blunder of handing over our nremote-control to others and then hope that they will press the button of appreciation and not that of criticism.
Thus, we are victims of our own negative self-talk which influences our feelings and actions and in the process attracts undesirable situations that propel the negative self-talk even further. We lose ourselves in this vicious circle. The good news is… there is a way out. Your remote-control should be firmly held in your own hands every moment. The external environment, incidents or people should never be allowed to upset you or limit your potential.
This book provides insights into the various nuances of our inner self-talk, it provides the blueprint for breaking out of reactive living and channelling your thoughts towards creating the best life possible for you. Be it physical vitality, mental discipline, financial prosperity, social harmony or spiritual clarity — yourself-talk can cause it to manifest or disappear.
That’s inner magic the power of self-talk!
